Church and Manse Renovation
In 2007 CPC organized a Capital Projects Committee to look into the possibility of grant funding from the Colorado State Historical Fund (SHF) in order to renovate our church and manse. The committee members include John Roose (Chairman), Mary Farrar (Secretary), Jay Farrar, Ellis Linsey, Pete Main, Walter Potter, and Durell Thompson. Jay Farrar wrote a grant requesting $10,000 for a facility assessment that was awarded to our church from the SHF. The grant paid for an historical architect, Dave Anderson, who was hired to assess our facilities in order to determine what repairs are critical to the preservation of our buildings. Following Dave’s report Jay wrote an additional grant proposal to the SHF for $192,505 to cover the renovations. In January 2008 CPC was awarded a grant by the SHF in the amount of $144,376 for facility renovations with the stipulation that we provide the additional $48,129. The Capital Projects Committee is now working hard to coordinate the work that needs to be done this summer.

Vacation Bible School
Our 2008 VBS featured science as a theme, with the formal name "Power Lab!". Each day from July 14 to 18 up to 35 children gathered for three hours of Bible stories, singing, crafts, video theater, outdoor games, and snacks. VBS Director Crystal Dady was helped by fifteen volunteers. The children learned that Jesus gives us the power to be thankful, to help others, to be brave, to live forever, and to tell others about God. Everyone, both children and adults, had a terrific time learning and growing into stronger disciples.

Fund Raiser
The capital campaign Fund Raiser to help the church raise the $50,000 required by the grant plus an additional $5,000 for missions has just ended. Pledges of almost $75,000 have allowed us to reach over 100% of our goal! Even though the campaign has ended, pledges and gifts are still being accepted and are needed to allow us to make renovations on Darley Hall that are not covered by the grant. Thanks to the generousity and support of members and friends of the church we hope to raise enough funds to cover these expenses as well.

Columbarium
Plans are proceeding to construct a columbarium (a vault for safekeeping of the ashes of deceased saints) on the church property. The session has approved use of the memorial garden on the east side of Darley Hall as the location for the columbarium. Pat Ezell is directing the effort to construct the columbarium, which will be a beautiful and sacred memorial to those whose ashes rest there. Architect and affiliate member David Hoey drew preliminary plans for the niches which will be available for purchase when the structure is complete during the summer of 2008
