Worship Schedule

Our worship schedule varies with the seasons. With the happy arrival of our summer members, we change to two services to accommodate our increased attendance. We enjoy an hour of Fellowship between the services. The rest of the year we have one service followed by Fellowship. We offer a Children’s Worship year round.

Fellowship

Regular Sunday morning worship services are followed by an hour of Coffee Fellowship during the winter months, or between the two worship services in the summer. Visitors are most welcome and encouraged to join us!

Our church joins together in late June or July on nearby Gold Hill for a barbecue and spectacular scenery. We have an annual Ice Cream Social in August that is another highlight for our congregation. In 2009, we added an annual Hawaiian Luau to our August events.

Community Presbyterian is famous for its Potluck Brunches. Our cooks bring out their best recipes for the monthly brunches following worship. This provides a terrific opportunity for getting to know one another and to celebrate the newest events in our lives such as anniversaries, birthdays, etc. Everyone looks forward to these monthly celebrations, and visitors are most welcome!

Service of Healing and Wholeness

Community Church holds a Service of Healing and Wholeness in which we sing, pray, read scripture, listen to a brief meditation, and light candles for particular individuals. The service provides an opportunity to pray with and for those who are suffering physically, emotionally, or spiritually and is open to all.

Ecumenical Worship Services

All of the churches of Lake City join together for breakfast followed by a community Easter Worship. The town also worships together on the Lake City Community School grounds on the Sunday closest to Independence Day. During the week of Christmas, the Lake City community is invited to join various Christmas Services offered by all the churches.

The churches in town also gather together from an evening of Lake City Community Prayer several times a year. All are encouraged to join us.
