PASTOR'S INSTALLATION

CPC was delighted to hold the installation of Reverend M. Richard Underwood to the position of Minister of The Word and Sacrament at CPC.  Those participating in the service included Reverend Patrick Bailey from Telluride, Reverend James Cory from Montrose, Reverend Bill Forbes from Delta, Reverend William Postler, Lori Winblood from Delta, and Elders Jay and Mary Farrar  from CPC.   

A light dinner was served in Darley Hall following the installation.  We look forward to many years of serving God together with Pastor Rick.

NEW MEMBERS

We have welcomed eight new members to CPC!  Bonnie Fleming; Peggy and Billy Martin; Nora and Burton Smith; and Faye, Meredith, and Michael Underwood have joined our congregation.  Welcome!!  We look forward to serving God with all of you.

July 11-15, 2011 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

This year's VBS theme was PandaMania.  Dorothy Schmidt graciously agreed to lead this exciting and important event with the assistance of Amy Humphries and willing volunteers.  About 24 energetic youngsters had a wonderful time and were an inspiration to everyone involved.  Thanks Dorothy and all the great volunteers and kids!!

CPC CELEBRATED 135 YEARS

Our church was 135 years old on June 18, 2011.  Those years were filled with a rich history that we want to remember and publish in a small soft cover book.  You are all part of this rich history, and we would love to have your remembrances, stories, facts, pictures, and other mementos to include in the book.

JAPAN RELIEF

CPC collected donations to send for relief for the disaster in Japan.  A special offering funding was gathered over the last few weeks with almost $2,800 collected.   Many, many thanks for your support!

As Pastor Rick said: "The generosity of this Church is amazing and so very Christian!  Praise God!"

CPC COLUMBARIUM

Leo Coniglio is putting the finishing touches of the moss rock covering of the columbarium and it looks beautiful.  It is located under pine and cottonwood trees and will be enclosed with a metal fence and flagstone patio.  Benches and wildflower gardens will be added this spring.  The columbarium should be a beautiful and sacred memorial to those who rest there and their families.
